This 6 week class provides an introduction to the scales and notation used in the psaltic chant (Byzantine chant) of the Orthodox Church. By the end of this class, students will be able to read and chant simple hymns from the Byzantine notation including some of the Resurrectional Apolytikia, Antiphons of Orthros, and some Vespers hymns.
